Old West Bronc Riding- Troy Van Norman Memorial:
This year, each Old West Bronc Riding contestant rode two horses, and go-round winners were paid as well as the average (overall event) winner.
Go-round money paid $750 for first, $375 for second, $200 for third, and $100 for fourth.
First go round placed as follows: 1st John Wright, 2nd/3rd Victor Madrigal/Monte Greene, 4th/5th Chris Laucomer/Jake McKay.
Second go round placed as follows: 1st Chris Baird, 2nd Nathan Kelly Jr, 3rd Jack Payne, 4th Moe Star.
The average paid $2750 for first, $1625 for second, $800 for third, and $250 for fourth. Prizes were also donated for the average (overall event) winners. Results follow:
1st John Wright (Elko, Nevada)--in addition to prize money, won a buckle donated by Skyline Silversmiths and Garcia spurs by JM Capriola Co. Wright also won a pair of custom handmade boots by Kelly Martin for having the highest score of the event, with 80 points.
2nd Chris Baird(Battle Mountain, Nevada) (2006 and 2008 Old West Bronc Riding Champion)--in addition to prize money, won a handmade mecate donated by Tracy Sue Bruce, and a custom metal art sign by Cade Lindquist.
3rd Victor Madrigal (Beatty, Oregon)--in addition to prize money, won a pair of custom chinks by Amanda Lewis and a bedroll quilt by Timmy Lyn DeLong, Samme Engleson, and Christy Stanton.
4th Chris Laucomer (Scottsbluff, Nebraska)--prize money only
